i have a mk2 1.2 carb engine.
what air filter do i need?
k&n, green cotton, anything, just want a new one, and i don't realy want one of these "universal" filters.
cheers.

K&N do a bolt on filter for the 1.2 carb.

Thats assuming you're looking to replace the complete standard bin lid filter jobbie, rather than just the filter element.

IMHO Just replace the standard item. Not worth £50 for one that wont do anything to a 1.2!

yeah i was looking for a whole new air filter.
and it isn't a standard 1.2 though. had engine work done.
would i need my carb set up again for the new filter or not?

Nope, although for winter it would be wise to rig up a hot air supply. K&N + carb + cold air = carb icing!

Dont bother putting anything 'uprated' on a 1200. Hell, I'll send you a K&N sticker (FOC) if it stops you wasting your money.

Craig, the sticker adds 50bhp lol

the engine has been ported and polished, air flowed, straight through exhaust, high rise cam. so i wanted a little bit better air flow.
