aye got it from lichfield in feb 2007 th shel has only done 38k bt wen i got it it had only done 25k in its whole life lol soon racked that up
love the car long time. engine choice is a little odd to me, especially with how redily available baby xe's are these days

Good progress mate :)
I think it must have been you or your dad doing the Grass-Autotest at Drumclog on Sunday in a wee Fiesta ?
A girl I used to work with has a Corsuki Rally car and its mental. It revs beyond 10k. I think she's using an F13 on here as well, cant remember cuz anytime we talked about it we were locked.
Great conversion to do mate, good choice. Well done.
lee 303 on migs red nova used to belong to my mate.
he rallied the car with a suzuki swift engine

yes it it :thumb: last 3 events 2 first in classes by over 1 1/2 mins embarrasing alot more powerful cars ie the scooby on you tube that we reel in and pass on the northwest stages the last time out we still did 6th in the class after dropping over 5 1/2 mins after my codriver sent me the wrong way on stage 1 ...would of been 2nd in class and 17th o/a but for that
why are they done??? cos its good bang for bucks and very reliable mine revs all day at 8k :)

aye vaughanmc (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/member.php?u=13879) it was, he borrowed that off me for sunday lol. Thats my main car th now while am gettin the nova ready, i've been stopped 3 times in 5 days with it by th police, if it pulled women like it pulls the pigs then i'd fuk th nova lol
draper, i hope it is, but for what i've seen from aswrally's car its bloody quick
russpazz as aswrally said the engine's are reliable and rev much higher than any standard vauxhall engine. Also the block is alloy and helps keep the car balanced and i thought its something abit different there are as many redtops conversions

u recon there anything to do with the ECU??
coldo66rc
21-08-08, 01:23 PM
been a while since i updated this, so thought it was about time. Bought a spax rsx (i think) coilover kit to stiffin th car up. The converstion plate came 5 weeks late but once it came i could get on with th job. had to make up th engine mount and i've still to connect up th exaust. got th wiring all sort i hope but i turns out that the ECU that i've got is fuked  the copper wire that runs round th ECU to connect up the feed and signal wire to the injectors has burnt out not sure what caused it but don't think it happened with me, i've got another one on th way so hopefully it should be all right.

That eng bracket looks as weak as F***... it will just bend and flex and then snap!
The Simps
21-08-08, 02:04 PM
wouldn't it be a better idea to lower the engine mount point?
Looks like a good project:thumb:
you going to use it as a road or rally/track car ??

I was just thinking exactly the same. That needs to be re-fabricated properly.

^^^^100%^^^^
would be a far better option..
drillout the spotwelds or cut off the whole mounting point.......and re-weld it lower down so the whole engine mount braket is on the 1 level........and on the 1 peice of steel.
the part where the fold/bend is should also have a small abrace..........thats where where your mount would be the strongest.:thumb:
i like this project though.
should be a right wee rever when its done.
nice

am using it for the road th now but thinking of taking it to knockhill and kames.
About the bracket, aye thats a no bad idea of lowering th mounting point shouldn't be too hard to do and wil reduce flex if its al 1 piece of bar, cheers

Will be good to see it round Kames mate :)
Let me know when your taking it up and I'll come up
Hows the Sport as well ??
nica car mate have always thought of doing this just didnt know how to mate the engine to the vaux box, i know it is possible, and i wouldnt know where to start modding driveshafts,
which box are you using?
coldo66rc
21-08-08, 10:05 PM
vaughmc: aye anno canny wait, the sports going slowly th now jst been focusin on this th now. But once this is finished i'll get th sport in th shed an plough on with it.
DAN-F: You get a plate that fits straight onto th swift engine then u bolt a F13 gearbox onto th other side saves any messing about with driveshafts, and from what i've heard don't think th swift gearbox's are up to much. The only problem i had with fittin the block to gearbox was that i had to buy M10 1.25 metric fine allen head bolts to fit into th countersunk bit in th plate, then th guy that made th plate up thought it would be a good idea to thread th starter bolts M7 so they were tricky to find. But apart from that it wasn't to bad

awryt, just found your project mate..
remember talking to me at kames?
i will be going upto kames again soon with my suzuki powered nova, if you are there i will take you a run..if you see me, just give us a shout..
my wee swift powered nova was going well i thought at kames last weekend, loved it..much quicker than any of my 8v's. what did you think of her?
coldo66rc
09-01-09, 06:49 PM
alrite, aye a do, it was a good day. Shes some bit of kit you were getting faster and faster as the day went on. Aye a would love a run in it see how quick she is. it would be interesting if u could get a straight drag between my 1.4 8v and your 16v lol.
Am gona bring the one in this thread up next time just got to sort out abit of the wiring cause the ECU keeps on buring out the same resistor out for the fuel pump relay, either that or fire on a spare set of webers an fuk the EFI

slothsport1 (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/member.php?u=13037): i got plate off a guy in england that had made 5 of them up not sure if he stil has any left but i could give you his number. The clutch is made specially by helix cost around £80. I havn't drove mine yet cause of the ECU problem bt i've been told there fukin quick for 1.3 lol.
nova_saloon (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/member.php?u=16398): Think am going to lower the mounting point on the car then i can jst bend a 90 angle bit of metal without havin to weld on that extra extesion bit.
I'll get more pictures up of what its like now done alot since
that engine alloy blocked? that must be light compared to the iron 1.2!
