dose the cam belt tensioner with the little niddle for new and used lock off ma bro is just about to start the engine and we dont no if it dose

erm it is like a little metle needle that is on the route of the cam belt and the one on ma bros car moves and allows the cam belt to have play in it it is located directly above the bottom pully. on the 20xe with a coil pack i think

the needle that points to new or used is it ment to be locked on one or free to move and leave play in the belt

Its meant to move about if you mean the needle on the tensioner. It will flicker about when the engine is turning over as the belt tension changes depending on camshaft position etc.
