Hello another thread by melol Ive got a mk 1 nova now its a 1.3L white 3 door with 37000 on it. The pic in my avitar is my old mk2 which i wish id never sold but we all make mistakes:roll:. At the moment im looking to buy mk2 bits for my mk1, but before i go ahead with it id like to know what everyone else thinks ? which looks the best Mk1/2. it would be a good sleeper as the mk1 but it does look like a grandads car a little bitlol. Anyway id be gald to hear your opinion ive tried to add pics of my mk1 but its know good.

Thanks Huffy

Dont be a fool. Keep it mk1.

i like the look of the pre-face lift models, that is the way the nova was designed to be, the facelift was just a last minute attempt to make it look more modern before they could design a corsa B to replace it.

but this is an opinion of meritlovers.

Each to their own, but nearly all mk1s end up being GSi replicas or similar.

Its so refreshing to see a mk1 or GTE styled Nova. I'd go as far as saying you would be doing something 'different' by staying with the mk1 styling.

The mk1 bumpers etc should sell easily enough if you decide to change.

MK1 all the way.
I MK1'd my old H reg (MK2) SR. Amber indicators too, much better IMO
People did (and still do) fit MK2 parts to modernise Novas, but they are an old school car (verging on classic imo) Yes a GSi looks newer than a GTE but not by loads, it can't beld in with the sea of featureless modern metal on our roads today, which was probably the reason a lot of the cars (90's) were facelifted.
As said, most MK1's got the GSi treatment, a Mk1 is a rare site these days :)

There might be a sentence in there somewhere lol

Keep it mk1, its cheaper and although i wouldnt say better looking they are different to see. Especially if its an sr because they are getting rare!

My MK2 (complete with the GSi bumpers and Cav slabs- DON'T BE A HATER!)

Current Mk1

I'd say 'If I had my time again blah blah blah...' BUT I am having it again, my current car is wikkid!

Keep it Mk1, you know it makes sense[all the hott people drive mk1s!]. Don't waste time, effort and money swapping it all about, if you want a mk2 just go and get one. Looking forward to seeing some pics :D

i have a J reg mk2, and after my dad managed to find me a mk1 bumper/grill combo in a field, same as lynz's in the pic above, i went and got the other parts for a mk1 front, keeping the car mk2 for now but might put the mk1 front on in the future :D

the car the bumper came off was being used to scare birds away from the farmers field too, but had been rolled and was being scrapped :( not that there was anything else worth having on it anyway, must have been in the field for a few years as the car was rotten.

Must have been facelifted (crash repaired with different front end?), they never made a Mk2 2dr saloon from the factory.

Cue someone with a pic of the wonky arched blue saloon lol

Nope, thats the decent one as the arches are correct (i.e. the rear one sits lower, as it would on a hatch).

The wonky one I was thinking of was this one:
