Right i have to take my mum and sister to Gatwick airport on the 16th July, It's around a 8 hour jounrney there and back.

So do i risk it and go in the nova or hire a car, My mum's going to pay whichever way. I dont think i could last 8 hours driving in norris to be honest.

Also, she is being dropped off at 7.30am So do the congestion charges come in to effect at this time?

Congestion charges? Its not in the city centre!!

I say hire a car & drive it accordingly. (like you borrowed it)

Hire a herse. That'd put the ****e up them!! lol

Seriously though, dont take the Nova. How sad does it look carting your Mother and Sister roung in it? If she's paying, hire a BIG comfy car and Jobs a goodun.

I would go with a hire car as the last thing you want is a fail and mess there holiday up.

just checked my insurance im im covered to drive anything, So i might use the astra or even my mates clio. But i need to put the interior back in on that with him.

Clio 172 could be fun, and they are pretty **** hot on fuel consumption :D

how big are their suitcases? take the astra!

Our 1.8 sits on the motorways at 70-80 all day long, as will the vx's 2.2 engine too. Modern cars are great Rexy, you should try one now and again :p

oh and dod, try thinking before you type, to atleast get some letters in the right place..

Rexy, down the M6, then the M1, then around the M25, you wont get within 10 miles of the congestion charge zone.

NOVA all the way :D

Mike
25-06-08, 05:15 PM
lol how do mean "around" the M25 lol its not exactly small lol

But yes, its pish easy Rexton, head northbound M6 to until you hit the M1 (mega signposted) and its signed to London all the way, something like 101 miles from the M6 exit.

Dont take the Nova, M1 M25 interchange is a notorious traffic blackspot, im talking mega fooking mega traffic when you get there too!

I think were sorted now, we are building up my mates clio 172 tomorrow and using that. (french riggy - Wilson)

Its bad enough driving the nova to shows let along gatwick airport, esp with the 1.0l. I think were heading to london centre as well for the day before we set off back to bolton. Seems like a good excuse to site see ha ha ha.

If anything changes riggy, i'll let you know cas the astra is bigger than the clio :D

TBH i would avoid the M1 like the plague!

Go M6 Toll, M42, M40, join the M25 southbound anticlockwise and follow it round and hop on the M23 :)
