Crap, and fastcar, dont read ne other ne more apart from total vauxhall,
Iv only just stopped reading fast crap an max pooer, coz alot of the articles are just bull, they want all cars to b like on fast and furious, if it aint, it don't get featured, wot happened wen you had mr "normal" who does most if not all the work themselves getting a feature?
They seem to b sent away to have all of the work done by others, and they always have a top notch job! so can afford not to get their hands dirty!

fast car and maxpower are all pony. Revs seems ok sometimes, Redline guys are pretty sound. I'm very impressed with Total Vauxhall, thats the only mag i buy regularly.

Maxpower, Fastcar and Revs are all fucking shit (brown cars, jap cars and altogether some shit cover cars :o ). Total Vauxhall is slowly getting better but its still not as good as most other makes dedicated mags (i.e featuring a std corsa gsi on soft stars ffs :x ) Redline is a good mag but it has a hint of bollocks in most months i.e cover car this month it aint exactly fast now is it, fuck the engine lets just get the outside and inside looking good. Its like cossie replicas really look ok but only half the car really  ! Rick

Total Vauxhall aren't worth more than a quid, in my opinion. I've bought loads of them, and there's only been around 1 feature in each (if that) worth reading.

Max Power, Fast Car and etc, aren't that bad. Sure they're full of shit, and most of the car's are mainly company showcars and most more than excessive, but at the end of the days it's not a showcase for people's talent, but for the end product.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying these mags are great, but if you're into modified cars, there is nothing better. Even if just for 'inspiration' or light entertainment.

i think maxpower is a good mag for modding tips, cars...ok, babes...ugh. i enjoy reading it sometimes just to laf at the xtreme some people go to. revs...i won't buy another edition after reading lancys shed...were they drunk to let a lawnmower go in that? like i've sed b4, lancys car shud be stuffed under the section of 'flymo lawnmowers' in the argos catalogue. the standards of revs has dropped completely after lancy's car was put in...they must have been really desperate to put a shed in. i praised him b4, tellin him i was pleased his car was a hit at trax...but i forgot to put an 's' in the front of hit! rotflmfaopmsl....i love it. i believe he's selling his car...i really do wonder why.

babes and max power don't go together. even most of their models must have been 'on special offer' rates. as for the cruise 'totty' - handy for pinning up on the wall for those that suffer from premature ejaculation.

max power is wank. fast car has drifted off a bit. i still read redline most months and total vaux. never bothered with revs, its a poor mans max power, revs is for sheds.

Total Vauxhall is the main magazine that I buy, however, if I see a Nova in any of the other mags I'll generally buy it to see what people are doing to their cars.
I don't go out looking for a magazine to buy, sometimes I'll go months without buying one.
What does annoy me is when Magazines feature the same car over and over again. I think I've seen Jets Astra in 3 diffrent issues now :o Ok the car might have changed, but the green version of his Astra hasn't changed all that much, a big rear wing and fancy graphics doesn't justify a front cover, 6 page feature in my eyes. Just because it's his show car and he probably plugs the magazines doesn't mean it deserves to be in a mag. I'd rather see cars that normal people have built rather than cars from company's that do this sort of thing for a living.

never really read maz power/revs/red line etc although a m8 at ork shoved his old copies my way for a skim through.

I've actually been banned from bring them home by my fiance coz of the "porn content" in them.

She laughs evilly when the pages "accidentally" fall open at the boobies sections!

luckily the pages arent stuck together...not on the copies I;ve kept anyway!!!

max power and fast car are crap. i only buy redline and total vauxhall.
Total vauxhall is one of the better mags but its a shame they insist on licking REGAL AUTOSPORT's arse!!!!!! They r the worst company ever!!!!!!!!

I do agree that Max Power especially tend to only feature cars by rich kids who get the modifying companies to kit their cars out. Though saying that I saw some of 'the worx' supplements Max Power did which gave you picture guides how to do loads and loads of DIY jobs so they haven't completely forgotten us working class.

My main complaint with these mags is the escalating price, near ?4. Why don't they stop doing the wank freebies every issue and cut a pound or two off the price?

The only magazines I realy like are the ones that the staff have wicked cars them selves, e.g. redline, revs when wots his name gets his 205 back from dawsons.

However max power and fast car are starting to follow the trend.

Ian I cant see anything wrong with revs, some of the cars in there are of a high standard.

Max Power started it all way back yonder. They used to create their own cars (good at the time, but shit looking back on it) and give them away in competitions.

Redline is a relatively new mag compared to it, though has improved looooads since it started. I bought the first few issues, and they were not that great.

The staff cars on redline are very good, though the other mags have started catching up now. Though they get their mods either free, or at considerable discounts, thanks to free plugs. Aspecially when the cars go on the front cover e.g. Clifty's (what an ugly fucker!?) Saxo (and soon his Civic) and Sona's R5.

Revs will never be very good as it's owned by the same company as Max Power, so most of the feature cars and etc are 'hand-me-downs' from Max Power, which will deliberately keep the magazine 'down'. Plus they're for different target audiences. Max is Mainly for young teens (hence the shit in it), and Revs is for the late twenties and those wanting to get more 'hands-on'.

However, if all the written shit is ignored, Max Power is without a doubt the best magazine out there. It even has an American version, and various other prints in different countries (in their native languages). However, Fast Car and Redline are very close behind. Redline seems to be written in the style of Fast Car and Max Power, as some of their staff have worked on both mags. It doesn't seem to be as 'loutish', but a lot of it is really crap - i especially get pissed off with the little column about the owner, where they try to make up something funny. It never is though.

The cars that are in the magazines now tend to be made by companies as their demos, or 'rich-boys-toys' and out of reach of most people, however if this wasn't the case, then the modifications on the cars featured would be limited and nowhere near as advanced (or 'trick') as they are now.
It does make it more difficult for a private individual to get their car featured, but that's only because the standards are much higher.
However it makes a better 'read' (well, the cars are much more interesting), than it would if there was a financial limit to the number of mods carried out on the car. Also, this is why the cars get more and more radical, as they would not be selling the magazines if the car's featured were similar time and time again. And the magazine's dictate the trends. The companies see what products people want and make them, the magazines choose what cars (and therefore companies/products) get featured (advertised and therefore sell/make more).
If someone 'goes against the grain' and does something different, it will only make an impact if one of the magazines decide to feature it (and thus a new 'trend' is started).

total vaux is gd as it doesnt sell on porn and the guys seem to be relistic,
not claimng to have sill bhp but saying they got 60(red 5door hatch in this month),so im impressed,
however i think something appears again and again here, maz power is just and excuse for porn,
lets face it on nearly every page ya have a lady wiv next to nowt on,
personal i think its sad.
and ppl buy it if they aint getting the proper thing

The 'porn' factor sells the mag to young lads who aren't old enough to buy the proper stuff. Others (well, me anyway) couldn't care less.

Total vauxhall is total crap. I used to buy it just for the Novas, but even they aren't very good. That's because of it being a Make specific mag, they don't have as many feature cars to choose from. Personally i couldn't care less about Corsas, Vectras or all the rest. Most of them aren't even modified a lot, or very well. It's just boring. The same cars, the same mods, but in different colours. Who gives a shit.

Fast Car, Max Power and Redline are crap magazines, BUT the cars in them are, most of the time, very good. Even if the stuff written about them is utter crap. But if i wanted to read something well written I'd just nip down to the literature section in the library.
