After looking at the PV pics that people had taken and noticing alot of novas with the badgless bonnet it's made me think about getting mine done or buying a mk1 bonnet without 1 allready.

Who prefares them with and who without.

Here is a 'chop of mine with and without.

De-badge and single wiper clears up a Nova front end a treat. Makes it look less cluttered.

Does look good without it mate

Might be a mod for me as well :)

Without IMO.

single wiper
Another fine example of "styling" over practicality! I'll never understand why people ditch one of the wipers, IMO it makes the front end look more cluttered as the wiper doesn't park as flat as the standard dual wipers. Or, if it does, it only wipes half the screen lol

I put badges back on mine lol

id say without was better on yours.
(if you do decide to do it im after a bonnet badge to replace mine due to poor condition)

Not at all. Never had issues with mine cleaning all of the screen.

The mk2 bonnet badge gives the front end a 'teddy bears nose' IMO. [I'll get my coat]

^ My thoughts exactly. Has anyone fitted the badge into the grille, Mk3 cav style?

Ok, maybe half was an exaggeration, but judging by your avatar pic the wiper parks quite high up on the passenger side. Just one of those things thats a niggle to me, stemmed from my first car being uber-poverty spec and only having one wiper! lol

Thanks for the replies.

I have been told by a few people now to not do the 1 wiper conversion as it's cr4p.

From my experience the single wiper is pretty terrible, it would never both wipe the whole screen and sit where I wanted it to. Plus you end up with a hole to fill, I say stick to standard wipers.

is the badge stuck on or screwed on?

NovaLad

On a MK2 i know it aint just stuck on because once taken off it leaves holes.

the bonnet badge on my first nova was just stuck on (K plate mk2)

second nova had the pins on the badge (J plate mk2)

looks better without the badge in the pics though :thumb:

Agree two wipers are better then one and look tidier just like having two d*cks would be better then having one, imagine the possibilities lol

no problems with my single wiper conversions in the past, i had one bodged home brew job that was ok and ive got a proprt storm kit in the garage for the next one, i managed to get it to sit about level with the tax disc, it cleaned the screen just aswell as the standard crap wipers aswell imo

id say debadge the bonnet aswell, looks loads better

The silly thing is the two holes it leaves behind would only of been punched in so the production line muppets could fit the badge in the right place quickly and squarely.

Better off welding a plate there mate other wise the filler can sink.

no need to weld a plate, just fill the holes up with weld and grind the welds down, then a skim of filler over it :)

I think badgeless bonnets look a tad boring.
Silver mk1 sticker ftw

Hmm, with that in mind, did they do a vinyl opel badge?

[edit] EPC says yes... that could look cool.

Just use a Mk1 bonnet, then theres no need to filler/respray (providing its in the right colour)
