Can I use a Cavalier MK3 coil in place of my standard Nova one?
Im trying to diagnose a problem and I only have a cavvy one spare.
Thanks :thumb:
What engine you got int your Nova?
If youve got say a SR engine, with a cyclindrical coil, then yes the Cav one works fine. I used a Carlton 3.0 item on my old Ex-Rally car SR engine.

its a 1.2 carb with one of those little compact square-ish coils.

So long as it looks to be the same type, it should be fine. Likewise a cylindrical 'wet' coil or square 'dry' coil.
Maybe swap & change the ign module also as these are known to play up.

Tha cav one I have is a cylindrical one and my nova one is a square type so doesnt sound like its gonna be the one.
are ignition modules expensive to replace?

Shouldnt be hard to find another coil. Ign modules arent cheap IIRC.
Too much for me to replace anyway.
