Lynz - your sick - Brewer is NOT a sex god!

Matt - Camera is a canan 350d - I used a technique called panning which basically means swinging your body as the car goes past and then taking a pic but contonue to follow the car. Its supposed to be difficult to master but the above shots were my 1st real attempt and I'm well chuffed!

Settings wise I shot inAV mode (appeteur priority). ISO was 100. It was a really bright day so the AV appeture was about f18 I think and the shutter defaulted to about 1/100sec depending on the colour of the car. I needed a slowing shutter to catch the blurred background and the sense of speed - the higher the f stop the sharpr the image - however too high and too fast a car and its blurred...

I used a tamron 55-200 Di ii LD lens set to manual focus - I chose a spot in the middle of the track dead ahead of me - checked which cars were racing then chose a focal point on the track for one of the cars. For both cars I just focissed on the double yellow line up the middle of the track. The camera was mounted on a monopod for the early shots but later on I got c0cky and hand held it. Zoom was between 120-180 depending on the car (I think).
