FOOOK me, thats quite an impact.

"as usual the car cocked its rear leg but this time it just kept lifting"
Sounds familiar

The cage definently stopped that being a lot worse.

Glad the drivers ok.

Shame, that looked a nice car! glad your brother is ok though, thats the main thing. At least the car died doing what is was intended for!.

not to sure wether to re shell or not i will have to check the cage to see if its damaged i think the os coilover is probably bent as the hub is broken not sure on the wheels i will have to have them checked to see if they are still straight, hopefully the rack will be ok ,the trouble is i am building a mk2 escort aswell so i am going to struggle to find the time but i did love driving it

oh well, better to see it die doing what it was designed to do, rather than being violated with XE's and understeering off a wet round about and into a lamp post.

im sure those men will have the sport looking well again, the cage has done a lot of protection and the bumper looks like it will live to fight another day.

Jeez! I just checked the link & the pics....

That looked quite nasty, looked like the car carried a lot of its momentum in the air. I hope you/bro reshells her & keeps the Sport ID & get it out on track again doing what it does best.

Cheers for all the comments ,i would strongly advise anyone doing trackdays gets a cage and harness,s as a minimum,i am gutted about the car but it was never going to be a mint one as it was used on track,i will have to see what is worth saving before i decide to reshell or break ,if i do reshell it will be back with a bit more power, see if my brother can jump the tyres next timelol

it was on ebay about a year ago ,after discussing it with a few people i think we are going to re shell it Gary at retro motorsport thinks the cage should be ok ,he also has a suspiscion that it may have been suspension failure from the body damage but i wont be sure untill i get it home and start to strip it down and inspect the parts ,if any one knows of a mint shell pm me cheers

I'm sorry, I've only just seen this thraed, absolutely gutted for you!

I recognise the car, I've got loads of pics from it at PV2008 going up the strip, I remember the vinyls on the doors.

This is an awesome capture pic of the tailgate and the polycarb!
