Atleast they wont rebulid it with those bits and have another go, only to be "surprised" when it fails one lap later.. :D

Someone had to out do my 'PV engine fail' didn't they!

Seriously tho - Feck me thats nasty! Do they know the cause?

IIRC it has to be rebuilt after every two runs or something stupid.

is there any videoism of the fail?

Adam
22-06-08, 04:50 PM
Aye, it died on its 2nd run of the day, after doing a PB of 7.66 on its 1st run.

Theres nothing to really see on the vid of the 2nd run TBH, i cant remember hearing any bad noises or anything, but i like everyone else was sitting 1/4-1/2mile away when it let go...

It threw a Rod. But **** me it must have thrown it something serious!!

Stuart, Drag Strip cars dont do Laps do they?

I don't consider it a fail as such. I once read that an engine is working its best just before it blows up. this one simply pushed the ceiling a bit far.
It did not blow up due to lack of maintenance, & as it was designed to run quarters, it is hardly abuse.

I still think Lee can do better.
If it was for quantity rather than quality i think Lee would have him hands down lol.

And it would have lasted as well if monkey boy did use all of the available revs (all 7,750 of the buggers) But no:tard:

You can go fast without ragging it all the time you know.
1 lap balls out or a whole session using a 1k less revs and having fun. I'd take the whole session every day :)

Epic fail on that V8 though. I was quite sad when I heard about there troubles. Its an amazing car & the crew that run it are such professionals.

I hope its back out & winning ASAP. I guess most of the components are American sourced stuff, so not overly expensive??

Adam

Strewth! Not horrendous in the grand scheme of things.

If Chip & co wrecked a LET to similar proportions, the cost would be similar albeit only to a 4 cyl rebuild......

Ernie

Lee is getting near to that now lol.
