View Full Version : Nova turbo 1st project?
How Hard is it to put a LET engine into a nova? I don't really know much about cars but its some thing i want to learn more about. Is it some thing that can be done by a novis with the right tools, lots of time, Haynes manuals and the Internet? Also is it a costly conversion to do? Cheers :thumb:
Cost wise budget around £2k+ IMO
With regards to a "Novice" conversion, are you mechanically minded? If not, i would advise against doing it DIY really. Plenty of info out there on the web & in the projects forum's in here

^^ second that mike its not for the faint hearted...
I'd say the above budget is correct and give it ago there is always someone on here who has done it before you and will offer a bit of technical advise

Depends if you are going to fit a F28, fmic etc.
what could possibly go wrong? lol
I'd say do an XE first, then if that goes Ok fit the LET.
lmfbo a monk with a let ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha sorry i found it very funny.
Yeah I'm fairly mechanical minded, Know my way around a bike just not cars. Whats a f28 and whys that make such a difference are they loads harder to fit
An F28 is a 6 speed GM box, they sell for around £400+ on ebay now & again as oppose to a F20 5 speeder.
And they mean more work to fit.
Need a new gearbox mount welding to the car shell, converting to 2wd etc.
A Turbo conversion isn't a conversion id advise for a 1st time swap IMO

A F28 can be had for £300, its a 6 speed gearbox and its far stronger than the F20 5 speed gearbox. If you are fitting a LET its the only way i would go.
I agree with Rick after seeing my mate go through five F20's in three months in a 300bhp Let corsa - F28 all the way!!!
