Breaker bar on the nut with the handle on the floor in front of the engine. Then blip the starter :) Works every time ive done it on a smallblock pulley.

Not a huge problem if you do, so long as you dont break the woodruff (sp lol) key. But yeah, on a big block you want to be taking the 6 allen hed bolts off to do a cambelt change.

The middle bolt is the easiest way of doing a xe/let.
F**K bothering with those small spline things that round straight off at the sight of a socket wrench

Hm,if that methods failed, your fooked IMO lol

Try a garage to use an air gun on it

Stop the engine turning over.

Lever on the flywheel teeth/lock the cambelt sprocket against the cam hosuing with a socket bar or something

^^^ Assuming the cambelt is still in place, wedge something in to the camshaft sprocket to stop the engine from turning over, and undo the bolt.

Adam is saying to lock the engine/crank by the flywheel teeth.

Did you say you'd had an impact gun on them?

if the engine is out, insert a cold-chisel. crowbar or simelar into the ring-gear, through the bottom clutch cover or the starter motor hole. if the gearbox is off, screw in some gearbox bolts into the block and insert a bar or device into the teeth and lock it against the bolt, then slacken the crank.

the method of cracking the startermotor over on the key with a extension bar on the socket rarely fails. it has saved me on some occasions when not working on my premises.
but an air/rattle gun is the best way if you have one.
