basically any info you have about matt colours lol
main question is.... use normal lacquer? or is there a special one, where can i get it
thanks.
i know matt black, bit of a weirdo.
as for your question you dont use lacquer as that would make it shiny, which you dont want obviously
Like he said, no laquer on it! Hence the term 'matt'

you add a 'matting' addative to your paint and dont use laquer
There is a Matt black Elise in the USA that ahs has a satin/matted laquer added to aid in cleaning, as its a ******* to keep a matt car clean due to the fact you cant "polish" dirt off etc.
You can buy matt laquer.
Because as said, a matt finish is sh**e, cant clean it properly, it chips/scratches easily etc.

use satin black its better than matt black
if you do use full matt colors are light dusting of laquer will help you get dust out of it other wise it will look crap after about 2 days although you could just paint it again
satin black it nice its its still really smooth and you can write on it with chalk

In most instances people actually want 'satin' black I reckon.
Its dull & non shiny but 'matt' is usually so flat & dull that it looks grey or white. It really is a pain to keep clean as dirt will hold onto its rough finish & it'll actually pick up on sponges & skin from your fingers etc & generally look crap.
Use SATIN!

i heard about a matting agent you add to your lacqure and just wondered if anyone new where i could get some.
how about using normal lacqure and then flatting it down slightly to loose the shine?
a mate of mine has just had his saxo painted that colour n when you run ur fingers over it it leaves a mark but i spoke to another friend who sed that you use a product called clear base coat which you put over the matt black and it is like a non shiney laqure. :thumb:
We used to (unfortunatly) repair quite a few mercedes which have satin/matt effect trims and bumpers..... On our mixing scheme we have a matt additive which we mix into the lacqeur before application, you can add different amounts to get the effect your after etc, Its applied exactly the same as any normal lacqeur the only problem with it is you cannot flat and polish it to remove any imperfections etc as it will become glossy again! It does look good when its well done however and will be durable and as long lasting as any other quality lacqeur finish would be etc unfortunatly you just cant polish it as said above. If matt is what you want just use quality paint we use bmw/white label however I know spies hecker do a matt lacqeur straight out of the tin, Im sure your local ae motor colours should be able to help etc, hope this helps.
