Alpine head unit connector

ive jus bought a alpine head unit .. n i thort i betta try it so my uncle took his kenwood out of his vectra n pluged the connector into the alpine

it jus smoked n stunk .. is the head unit broke or isit becos it int the right connector

id say broke and it may have broke because the connectors or diffrent to the kenwood.
to see if it works just try putting the red and yellow together + and the black to the - to a 12v batter.

go to www.autoleads.co.uk (http://www.autoleads.co.ukm) download the catalogue, look for pc3 connectors - youll prob find the kenwood loom has an earth where the alpine had a live or summat.. bit silly thing to do - think its gonna be fecked now dude..
