I want to replace my exhaust, with a custom made jobby, but I was just wondering can I take my cat off and put a replacement pipe in it's place, or does my engine rely on back pressure (it's a GSI 93 K with Multec engine not Jetronic)

it doesnt but.........on the very odd occasion they have been known to cut out if you do a sudden blip on the throttle, like putting ya foot down briefly giving high revs then letting go quickly, it just stalls.

didnt have any problems myself but a mate did, you will certainly notice the difference with decatting :)

btw - iv got a full magnex system. like stainless 4 brnch manifold, system and backbox, done very little work as it was only on my car a month before i fitted a 16v and now it wont fit. This exhaust retaisl at ?430-?450 if you would like ot make me a sensible offer, pics available on request
