Hi all. Feeling a fool for posting this up, im having trouble fitting my tran x diff into my f13 box.

Swapped the final drive over, pressed new bearings on and new bearing races in the box. Come to put the diff into the box and i cant get it in! Seems too big? Should i have to modify the box in any way? i.e grind a bit out?

Has anybody else had this problem?

Help is hugely appreciated

Ste

EDIT: The diff has the larger side gears built in to accept group a shafts (dont think this make any differance though?)

Needed to grind when fitting an ATB diff.

Is there anybody that can point me in the direction of which part to grind. Im thinking its the side opposite to the castlated nut, just checking before i attack my box.

you only need to remove a very small amount to allow the diff to drop into the case.

Ste,

I had the same problem lol

The only option is to grind a fair amount off the inside of the casing. Looking at it initially it looks as if its just (about 1mm) catching on the lip where the bearing race is located yes? I tried in vain to angle it in every way possible too lol

I had to have both sides machined down, the castle nut side more so than I would have thought. I have some pics on my phone but have no way of getting them off whilst at work.

I'll post them up tonight if it will be of help?
