    Default *HOW TO* make a corsa 2.0 linkage.

    Ok, i know this is a nova site but it seems alot of users are now building corsa's and asking for info on this. here it is:

    NOTE: i am not going to teach you about welding here, needless to say this guide expects you can weld well. if not get someone who can to do it!

    First off, here’s a list of tools used for this;
    • A hacksaw
    • A marker pen
    • A tape measure
    • A grinder
    • A welder
    • A pair of goggles
    • A pair of gloves
    • A welding mask

    Right, the parts used are;
    • Std Corsa B linkage
    • 1.5 cm flat bar (bought from B+Q)
    • black paint (BBQ paint or anything you have)
    First, get your work area setup, and make sure your welder and grinder work properly. Now get your corsa linkage, and find the U shaped part.

    mark a line right down the middle of the U part, you can see it in the above pic. now cut down the line with the hacksaw, slowly. straightness is very important, it needs to be cut 90 degrees from the edges. get your tape emasure and measure the amount your rear mount is spaced. dependant on your conversion this can range from 0-25mm. this is important, as it determines the amount you need to add to the linkage. now get your flat bar and cut the same length from it, and remember, measure twice cut once. you should now have this:

    Get your welder set up, and test it on some spare bar, you need decent clean welds. i am not going to teach you about welding here, needless to say this guide expects you can weld well. if not get someone who can to do it! DONT FORGET YOUR MASK!! WELDING FLASH IS NOT NICE!! welded it ok? both sides? have a brew, and a hob-nob and you should have this:

    now get your grinder and grind your welds down, but not too far as you may weaken the linkage. USE YOUR GOGGLES! I HAVE THE SCARS ON/IN MY EYE FROM METAL FILINGS, NOT GOOD! like so:

    (half done btw)

    Now paint her up, like so:

    Et voila, you now have your completed linkage. Fit it and align it like the haynes says, by locking the lever and the gearbox. check that you get all the gears. Go have a brew and some hob-nobs.

    No pic or detail of the previous shortened part, not a full guide.
    I only say it like that because I still dont know all of whats involved after reading that guide. Good though.

    Looks alright to me?

    Rob, is there the clutch entering angle and Heater matrix pipe shortening issue with the Corsa B?

    Just the fire wall to be altered. Would a good slap with the hammer sort it or does it need cutting?
