Phil also attached the underside of the Bonnet, which probably took many hours getting into all the nasty bits.

Also the new wings test fitted

there is clearly a quality difference in the Pattern parts, i bought one at Billing (that's how long ago!) and that one fitted perfectly. the one Phil got, was poorly formed so found one on eBay which was as good as my Billing part.

i then got some photos of the panels in guide coat/primer

I honestly thought that they were in Paint.

having just said it looks like its in paint, now seeing it on a real screen, its clearly not shiny! Phil then set about the engine bay, seam sealing and making good all the rusty bits.

while Phil was looking over the engine bay he came across a Stress fracture on the passenger side by the chassis leg, which he has repaired as well.

this does look rather one sided, the Bodyshop doing all the work! just not true. I have been buying parts!
set of Twin 40s, a high lift cam, all ready for the 1.6.

I as had to do some work. i took the Manifold away with me and asked Dad to weld up the joint section, I also stripped off the Heat wrap which had accelerated the rusting on the manifold.

clean up with a wire brush and attached with this

Didn't come out too bad really

the other thing that needed to be tarted up was the steering rack. cleaned up ready.

    tapped

    primed

    coated in a rover grey

this was all ready then to start putting the engine back in so it can be moved easier round the bodyshop.

    i then received these photos.

at this point i was asked to go down there and refit the Engine so that Phil could move the car around the workshop. so enlisted the help of my Dad for a Saturday to get this done.

So first things first, steering rack back in

so glad i did clean it up and spray it, looks great in grey with the orange bushes.
didn't take many photos of getting the engine in but its back in again

    few arty farty ones.

these are the last photos i have at present and i doubt there will be any more at present until its complete! i will be dropping a few more bits off to Phil.

Paint should be done by the end of this week, then it will be panels to be done and plastics which will be going Grey.

I've also order a full set of Hoses and clips.

I'm sure you will mate. You're doing a lot of work I couldn't do or wouldn't attempt myself anyway with the skills I have.

Lovely tidy job on the bay.

You know its takes seconds to take the throttle and clutch cable out tho...
