That's bloody lucky.
That's bloody lucky.
Well that's made my day! The only thing I can say is the first thing I heard was what turned out to be the belt rubbing on the covers...I knew something was up so didn't rev over 2k for the half mile it ran before it died. Happy days!

I did send you a video on messenger Friday evening but you haven't viewed it yet ! I'll sort the other parts this week and stick a new belt and bolt on there and it will be good to go again
Any progress ...??
Good to see that the damage wasn't too bad! hopefully catch you out on track one day!
If Carlsberg did Motor clubs, then IDMC would probably be the best motor club in the world.
James sorted things. Proper dowel to locate camshaft pulley and repairs to the belt cover as we could not source a new one of this 16SV type. Now need the carbs servicing as they are leaky and it's popping and banging something rotten. Will need some time back on rollers to tune up then should be good for Cadwell or Brands in March may be. Being a chicken on the carbs as not taken 45s apart before...can't be that hard right...

Carbs on the bench all serviced. Sytec service kits from Burton Power. Just got to get them back on now, bit of a pig getting them off

Carbs back on and running again, no leaking of fuel and seems to idle more evenly. I'm assuming the "popping" is pre-ignition? Thoughts anyone?? Video link added....a bit dark but it's the audio you need...
