    Default What bits do i need from a donor car 1.6 16v

    right i need to kno what parts i need to fit a 1600 16v engine from an astra into my nova

    roughly i no i need

    Engine
    loom
    key fobs + immboliser

    What else do i need

    also the engine dosent have a box so what box can i use

    F10 box wont fit.

    Depends which engine it is, astra tho, probably X16xel, so has immobiliser etc.
    Plus i'm sure the inlet is too big for a nova engine bay.
    You'll also need a MPI fuel pump and tank, or just pump if you have a SPi tank.

    So would it be easir to fit a nova gsi engine insted?

    Easier yeah.
    16v also needs downpipe modifying and welded to fit.

    16v is a nicer engine tho, more tuneable.

    But for good cheap power, 8v is where its at.

    ye wel i was thinkin on the tuning side of things a nice cam setof carbs/TBs good exhaust...

    Mite jus go with the 8v

    Carbs
    and TB's are in different leagues.

    If you have the cash, 16v and TBs all the way!

    If its everyday etc car tho, i'd probably just 8v it.
    Easier/Cheaper to service,repair etc.
