    Default 1.6 16v

right a few questions really , as 1.0 power is leathel it might have to come out , i was goin to fit a 1.6 8v but just to add to my ideas i thought of this

engine wise i should be fine , it will fit on nova mounts , wire in like an xe (kinda )

what i want to know is what exhaust manifold would i use? a nova one? or a mod'd corsa one

driveshafts i think will be std nova ones, am i right

how does the transponder thing work - does it just have some sort of sensor which connects to the ecu , and can i have a key made up with the chip in and put the sensor near the ignition barrel ?

any info on what sort of lump to go for ? ive heard that some suffer from egr probs and that there are 2 types of engine gsi style and sport style , which is the best

    cheers lads and ladies

    carl

p.s what top speed will it do in first being chased by a fiesta diesel pmsl :: ::

Right first things first this is basic list...

    Nova mounts ok
    Nova Shafts ok
Corsa GSi top rad hose rest nova's
    Corsa gsi throttle cable
    F13 or F15 gearbox ok

Try to get a c16 xe and then not worry about the transponder, if you cant and get the x16 xe chat to me on msn as cba to write anymore.

C16 XE is the early Corsa GSi engine
X16 XE is the later Corsa GSi & Tigra engine
X16 XEL is a Astra & Vectra engine

All the X's have the standard immobiliser in the ecu but they can be removed or zero'd

All the Vauxhall engines with EGR'S suffer even the V6's they are a bad idea on all engines, you can remove these fairly easily with a little bit of fiddling.

You will need to cut and shut exhausts, need corsa manifold mated to nova system.

regarding which is best the c16 or the x16, there is no better engine, people say the c16xe is better, some say the x16xe, they both have plus points, the c16xe is 3bhp more powerful (wooo) and has poblems with vauxhall putting undersized pistons in, so they smoke, also they are alot older, have an afm which has a habit of breaking. The x16xe is a newer engine, has secondard air injecton (which does what i dont know!?) and this can simply be removed with no problems, just unbolt it remove a vaxume line and your away. also as mentioned it has an egr valve, but again easy to fix, go to vauxhall and get the egr blanking plate of an opel for about ?3 and fit that to blank the egr off.

if i was to pick an engine id say go for the x16xe. i did, works well, power of 120-130bhp is easy to get by finding a new inlet manifold, but to get oer 145bhp best bet is to get a set of throttle bodies, basic kits come in at ?1700 for everything you need to fit them.

sec air injection is where the ecu over fuels the engine and then pumps air into the exhaust casuing it to burn to heat the cat up etc.
