    anyone know the new laws on buying a highpowered air rifle??

    mine broke today an will need to replace it as the rabbit population is growing rapidly!

    don't think there are any laws to be honest.

    now obviously if your buying a shotgun or a rifle then there are laws. but there'l be a legal limit on high powered Co2 rifles, like 12ft/lb or something

    i know that the limit was always 12ft/lb but i have no idea if it's changed. I'd guess not or there would have been something in the press about it.

    air rifle law!

    anything over10Lb will need licensing from july 2003!,
    they have to be over 3ft long, no pistols,
    and have yellow or red painted barrel tips!
    must have bear catches, and
    break barrel or underrun
    no bolt cocking!

    i said cock!

    im glad i got a 18lb licence :wink: ::

    What happens if i have an old one that i dont think is 3ft long, hast got a yellow or red end etc...Dont think its as powerful as a gas one. its a spring powered but got a high powered spring so the man in the shop told me when he replaced it. Oxbow rings a bell......

    mines like that, quite an old one but its had the springs uprated or some shit. All i know is its would make a right mess of a pikeys face.

    some pikey has really done your head in recently
    i think the laws a due a change and it wont be long before you need a licence for any means of fire arms.

    so get your new one asap.

    Yeah, but you wanna see what they've got under the Seat of their Low Roof SWB Transit seats mate!! And believe me, its a bit bigger than an Air Rifle!!
