    Default 1600 16v ecotec engine into a 1.2i

    hey my mate has got a project going and is considerin changin the 1.2i engine to a 16 16v ecotec. i assume its possible but what work is needed as in will the loom fit or will he need to chang it? all info welcomed and needed cheers lee

    1600 will bolt streight in

    alternaotr and pulley will need swapped for one from a crank sensor equipped v-belt car (nova sri, some astras etc) unless u want to make a cutout/dent in the chassis leg to clear the std unit

    u need to use the corsa engine loom which is simply 6 wires to connect to the nova and away you go

    the exhaust manifold will need fettled, either the nova downpipe bent to fit or the corsa one extended to fit onto the nova system

    you'll also need to fit an MPI fuel pump, astra mpi pump will fit and do the job
