ENGINE NUMBER ASSISTANCE

i dont care if i sound stupid (coz i know i am) but where is the engine number on a 2ltr 16v block??

i looked on right hand side (near dizzy cap)

seen these numbers...

90281700 (might be 80281700 quite hard to read)
0113-2
05 (< in a circle)
31345R
FOAEB

is any of that right?!?

On the block right next to the gearbox at the front there is a flat area. It is quite hard to read, and reads from bottom to top, you might be better going over with a wire brush on it. The number will start with C20XE ***********

thanks mate,

strangly enough it didnt seem to be the engine number on that bit as i found out from vauxhall this morning

sorted now tho need it to get a clutch but "think" attempt number 6 is going to be ok.
