I have a full 1.4 SR engine and a full 1.2 engine so which bits will i need to swap to make it fit? has anyone had first hand experience of doing this and what advangtages can be had?

a) the sr and non sr engines are the same (unless your in the early years of novas then there was a mild difference)
take the head off the 1.2, get a 1.3 inlet manifold and then fit those parts to the 1.4 engine. you should have a bit more go from the off then.
other than that it should all be the same (dont forget to keep the 1.4 dizzy,coil etc)
this 1.4 sizzy/coil thing comes up again. Whats so good about it compared to the 1.2 coil/dizzy?
Also use the 1.4 cam. The 1.2 cam won't fit the 1.4 dizzy i think.
the 1.2 unit is big and a lumbering
and no one has really used one in "hard use" applications where as we know the 1.4 setup works well.

so is the 1.4 dizzy Delco Remy or is it still Bocsh?
1.4 is bosch HEI system
1.2 and 1.3 are a delco system which isnt as good
righto, cheers. I plan to run a twin 40's from a sport aswell if i can find them so which inlte manifold will I need? Will using a GSi exhaust manifold and downpipe make any difference aswell as a GTE/GSi cam??
Black dizy cap is Delco right?
and red is Bosch?
the only problem is running a 1.4 dizzy is that you need a 1.4 cam, as the 1.2/1.3 cams don't work with the 1.4 dizzy, as someone on here found out. (forget who).
when i take the head off, it just unbolts and bolts straight back on with new gasket and strethc bolts right? No valves or anything to refit is there??
no. you'll have to undo some water pipes and take the tension of the cambelt (water pump or tensioner whichever) to takeit off the pulley.
best really to get a Haynes manual as it tells you exactly what to do.
