    Default Will this work?

Dont know much about amps so need someone to tell me if this is a gooden and if it can do what I want:

    Channel configuration: 2 / 1
    Low Pass Filter (selectable): 50-300Hz
    Output Power DIN 45500: at 4 ohm 2 x 200W / 1 x 500W, at 2 ohm 2 x 250W
    Output Power Rated/THD: at 4 ohm 2 x 200W/0.1% / 1 x 500W/0.15%, at 2 ohm 2 x 250W/0.15%
    Maximum (14.4V): at 4 ohm 2 x 400W / 1 x 1200W, at 2 ohm 2 x 600W
Frequency Response: 5-50,000 Hz (Tolerance: +0/-3 dB)
Signal to Noise Ratio: 100 dB
Total harmonic Distortion (1 kHz): <0.01%
    4-rail Power Supply
    2 Channel
Speaker level Input and Line Out
MOSFET: Output Stage / Power Supply
Bass Boost: 40 Hz, 0-10 dB
    Toroidal Transformer
    Line In: Input sensitivity 0.3 - 6V

It will be runinng a Sony Sub:

    Freq. response 18-2500Hz
    Power range 80-300watts RMS
    Peak power handling 1100 watts
    Sensitivity 88dB

Is this ok? Will I be able to connect 2 150watt 6x9's to this?

    Thanx

The amp is a 1 or 2 channel so it can run the pair of 6x9's OR the sub - not both.

So would I need a 3/4 channel amp then to do both?

the sub should be able to run on the amp bridged.
if the sub is 300 watt rms i would say it is around 600 watt peak.
so the bridged amp into 1 way power at 500 watt peak should be fine.

but i would not run the 6x9's on it. amp is too pwerfull for them.

The amp Im looking at now is

    Channel Configuration: 4/3
    Low Pass Filter (selectable): 50-300Hz
    Output Power DIN 45500: at 4 ohm 4 x 60W / 2 x 60W + 1 x 150W, at 2 ohm 4 x 75W
    Output Power Rated/THD: at 4 ohm 4 x 60W / 0.08% / 2 x 60W + 1 x 150W / 0.1%, at 2 ohm 4 x 75W / 0.1%
    Output Power Maximum (14.4V): at 4 ohm 4 x 120W / 2 x 120W + 1 x 300W, at 2 ohm 4 x 150W
Frequency response: 5-50,000 Hz (Tolerance: +0/-3 dB)
Signal to Noise Ratio: 100 dB
Total Harmonic Distortion (1 kHz): <0.005%
    4-rail Power Supply
    4 Channel
Speaker Level Input and Line Out
MOSFET: Output Stage / Power Supply
Bass Boost: 40 Hz, 0-10 dB
    Toroidal Transformer
    Line In: Input Sensitivity 0.3-6V
    Gold Plated Connectors
    Load Capability: 2 ohm
Current Drain (rated output power at 4 ohm): 31 A

The sub I mentioned has a 300rms rating and apparently a 1100w peak power output. I do want to connect the 6x9 as the HU is dimming when at high volume as everything is running off that and on a previous post it was recomneded to me that id should wire them up to an map so there is less strain on the HU.

Thanx for all your help, I must start reading up on amps I fink

if ur having a sub in the boot do u really need 6x9's on the rear shelf aswell???

it will sound alot better if u were to get some decent front components and run them off the amp as well as the sub imho

I agree with what Cooper has said about having 6x9's and a sub - but it's your choice.

The second amp will be fine, set it to 3 channels by doing the following - bridge 2 channels into 1 for the sub and use the remaining 2 channels for your 6x9's.

I'd set the gain fairly low on the channel running the 6x9's however.
