Default omg how fast is my re-built engine!!!!!

been out to derby today and gave it a lil' bit of stick, looked down at my rev' counter and it was off the scale

it revs clean off the clock in 5th - for a diesel to have power past 6k rpm

    awesome!!!

uve refitted the diesel clocks then??

i didnt think it was possible for a derv to rev that high due to the slower burning rate of the fuel :/

    what was the indicated speed?

    and why u selling it?

i haven't got a speedo cable so i dont know what speed but i will be saying about 120mph from how fast the traffic was going past.
it certainly revs hard, most of the power comes in between 4k and 5.3k

i need something else, i have had the car for 2 years now and i am bored with it, i want something that requires no maintenence for 2 years till i can do my 2.2DTi Corsa (new shape)

Is the engine we are talking about the re-built diesel nova,
sounds like its going pretty decent now, saying it did seem completely knackered.
What exactly have you done to it, just re-built it with new parts that were knackered.

skimmed a low mileage head, reseated the valves (on my original head they were well off the seats and some were bent)
    steel head gasket
    set up tappets perfectly
