I have a 1999 Model YZ250..... But to be honest theres very little noticeable difference between the 4 makes! There all about as good as each other. It purely comes down to which colour you prefer :D And especially as your not going to be racing it proper and only messing about with your mates. Just go for the one that you think looks best.

    Default ?

thats correct they are all japenese, they are all pretty much the same engine, 2 stroke and obviously newer models are less likely to have have a hard life so it is a case of what colours to get,

i would go rm/ or kx or a 4 stroke crf 450 wicked same power as a 2 stroke 250 but more grunt

    ive got a tri-z 250 2 stroke trike, basically its a yz 250 lump in a trike animal!!!!!! :D

ive only ever had honda cr's (80 and 125) and cant complain at all about them. you will only beat a 125 round a track if ya real fcukin good at riding due to 125 being lighter and easier to throw around. can beat ma old man round track when he on his 250 even though i only got 125. obviously he beats me in a straight line but riding on track like the bikes are meant for......... I WIN!!!! ::
