Default House's ITB XE build and re-build

Started today with a bit of bumper fixing

Holds the lower valence perfectly and is just the right height for a shin buster!!

    Alternator cutout

Then alternator tensioner and I made the alloy spacer for the bottom bolt.

The bolt is temporary before anyone questions it

Next we turned out attention to the external crank sensor, well, I stayed out the way and Ben played around with the mill to create this

Bolted through the wall of the sump, will be loctited and then the bolt head lockwired together. It won't go anywhere and the bolts will be safe.

Picked up where we left off yesterday

Cleaned the alternator cutout back to allow the alternator to fall all the way forward, easier to install

I turned up some little spacers for the boot fixings

    Meanwhile Ben was making something

All in an effort to get this

    Which allowed this

The tubes put in for measuring, they will be flush with the outside when finished

    They don't look too bad

Meanwhile in a dark corner of the workshop it was turning

    Coil on plug done!!

    More tomorrow!!

Loving the daily updates. All this lathe and milling is making me want to get my wallet out, I just don't have space.

    I'd love a mill and a lathe.

If I win the lottery again I'm gonna employ Ben full time so we can just build shit, all day everyday!!!!

Not too much today, Ben finished the rally stands, they look proper!!

Plenty of room for skinny old me to fit under

Whilst Ben was cracking on, I looked at a wheel speed sensor, I turned up a little stud, that will be held in with resin on the finished CV, then set about making a bracket to hold the sensor, bit of jiggery pokery

Oh and we threw the headlights on to see how it would all look. Reasonably happy with it

The big job list is complete and we're onto a few smaller fiddly jobs now.

Fingers crossed off for exhaust manufacture next week, we'll see if it can be fitted in.
