A GTE - GSi - TD rear roll bar might help. It fits inside the beam and is a bit thicker than other models. Otherwise, staying on roll bars a Cavalier / Saab secondary one can be fitted to the Nova Beam.
Regards to shocks and springs I'm sure Paul (Rallymarshal) will be along with some advice soon.
How do you fit a cavalier one to the rear beam ? Do you know anyone that done it to I see how its done
There's a thread in 'Articles' section on here with lots of how-to info and pics.
It basically clamps on the front (either welding tabs or U bolts) and attaches down the rear legs of the beam.
Coilsprings may be able to do you a stiffer rear spring.
Was thinking a stiffer spring but I have a rotten cavalier axle there with the roll bar on it so it would be cheaper to do what lbs spring would I run ? Any recommendations
I guess you need to know what you're running now to make an educated guess on what they should be.
I know there no way of testing the lbs of a spring so might just have to guess
I cant find the threw for the cav anti roll bar can someone post a link
Possibly harder if they're progressive but there has to be a way to test them at a proper place?
Here's the link for you good sir: http://www.pngclub.com/forum/showthr...on-a-Nova-beam
Springs can be tested - Avo will do them on their rig plus many rally prep places.
If theyre progressive then its harder to do but standard rate arent too bad.
For info Im running 35nm coilover rears on smooth tarmac = 200lbs at the wheel on my Astra 1600cc but I prefer the car soft. I run a through the beam ARB and an external Astra GTE 16v ARB on the rear and no front ARB.
Just won our class at Blyton at the weekend so cant be too bad a setup though first time out with coilovers and was totally wet.
Paul.
