Default Xe head onto e16se block

    Hey guys ,

I've got a 1.6 block with max overbore and oversize pistons, I've had the head matched with the manifolds, twin 40 dellorto carbs and 300° piper cam on hydraulic lifters, it has nice power but I would like to go the 16v route now and wonder if I can use my block with a xe head?

    Thanks
    Andy

im pretty sure the mating faces are the same, so it should work.

you might wanna get your hands on both head gaskets (e16 & x16) to double check all the holes match

careful which gasket you buy, if your running maximum oversize pistons. as they press out a touch, when compressed down, and you wouldnt want them to contact the edge

Thanks, when I look at pics of xe pistons I see they have cutouts for the valves, and looks like the timing belt has 2 tensioner,
So looking now for a good c/x16xe that I can build up , and keep running the e16se until it's done.
