I think if i did take a offer on mine, i'd regret it so much after i dont think i would sell.

Yes i'd be very temped to at a good price... But i dont think i could go through with it..
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi

It all depends on the individual and the circumstances. Value of vehicle is important, but if the person doesn't want to sell or not interested in selling, then value is irrelevant.
Some things in life are more important than cash itself, I personally wouldn't be interested in selling at any price. After 25 years of ownership the car owes me nothing. So why sell?
Yet if you need the cash, for whatever reason then the valuation of a car comes into play.

Thing is thats what I would consider the 'going rate', but seeing as I don't need/want to sell either of them at the mo it's a moot point. If someone came along and offered me £15k for the Super Bee I'd tell them they were an idiot and still not sell it to them

I had agreed a five figure sum with a chap just recently but it is dependant on another of his cars selling which hasn't happened yet so for now it's still with me. Not fussed really either way I only considered it as the novas only covered 50 miles in two years. I have very little time and motivation for it to be honest! My free time now is spent hitting the trails with my bikes. As for Keith he's a lifer! I can never honestly see him parting with it. We did discuss me buying it from him before I bought my current one but in the end he turned me down too!

I sold mine for 5k in 1995 then bought it back for £250 in 98 and it's possibly worth an honest 5k again but 5k doesn't get it.

wow I'm surprised that people are offering 5 figure sums for cars, if they are genuine, prices are on the rise. I'm equally surprised that you would sell nick I thought you were a lifer as well. It seems turbos an sports are where the money is at the moment.

Prices have been going up for years really as novas have been becoming more and more desirable. Many of us who had novas as a first car or one of your first cars are now in our thirties and have the money to come back to the scene throwing a good amount of cash in the process to re enjoy a car you had in your youth. The same happened with the ford escort mk1 and mk2's as they used to be available for nothing yet now command a huge price. Novas will follow without doubt as they will only get rarer and peoples projects also become more and more in depth. I think some sports and turbos have just been extremely well built hence their potential price tags but any well restored/built nova will do well. Rich' sport for example is one of a small minority... A true genuine original car with low miles in mint order so it doesn't surprise me he's had a good offer for it.

I received 7k almost five years ago now for A6vxl but heard C20tbo went for 9.5k a few years back and recently a low mile stock gsi did 8.5k. So don't really see five figures as out of the way for a project that's had two or three times that spent to restore/spec it to a stunning desirable standard If It's a car you really want. If I was to part with this nova I think that will be the end for me. I've achieved what I wanted to with my novas and are happy to bow out to concentrate on other areas of my life mainly being fatherhood and as said enjoying the trails on my bikes.

Just my opinion by the way! I'm sure many may disagree!

    Nick.
