    Default What wheels!!!

Wat offset wheels can I get away with on my nova? I'm looking at 15x7 et 25 or et36. Am I pissing in the wind with original arches as I've been told et49 only?? Tyre stretch? Thanks in advance

Et 49 is the standard offset anything lower then that can cause problems what you can get away with depends on your car as the tolerances are all slightly different on every nova, you may even find it fits fine on one side but not on the other.

Since when? Standard Nova alloys are 49. As are the Sr steels (i say SR as i had them)

Anything under 45 and you'll start touching the arches with the tyre...

Anything in the 40 and below is rubbing city.

Some of the 3 spoke sr/gte wheels were 47.5. I had a set from a 1.3sr and that's what was stamped on them. Might even have one knocking about still. I've got compomotive mos on et49 and are a perfect fit never rubbed once

Oh, mine had 49 on them. Maybe late and early are different?

Then stick to 49-47 for the best fit. Well that's is you want them tucked. If you wanna run mega camber and stretch then you can go lower..

All the gsi and gtes I broke over the years had 47.5 3 spokes on them... So did they do a 49 offset 3 spoke variant then?

the offset is dependant on the width of the wheel. a 7 inch wheel with et 49 will rub but a 6 inch wheel with et 49 wont. a 6 inch wheel with a 47.5 offset will probably rub.

If you use an offset calculator. you can work out if the wheel will fit by fitting a wheel with a known offset and width and measure the clearance from the wheel to the outer and inner arch. then just play around with the calculator and it will tell you where the wheel will sit in relation to the wheel you have with a known width and offset. youll then have a wheel size with enough clearance not to hit the inner and outer arch.

Just remember to measure both sides of the nova as they are wonky.
