    personally i cant do many turing upgrades on your x18xe, sorry

    ive heard of a few people getting really decent output from these engines, from an aftermarket intake manifold, uprated cams and a new exhaust system, then a re-map to pull it all together.

    but I warn you, its not cheap ! I think they spent over 2 grand.

    I guess the cheapest, easiest stuff, would be an new exhaust system with de-cat, but that might cost you 4 or 500 quid. it would be more cost effective to go for a bigger engine.

    id probably just give it a good service myself. change the plugs, and all the filters and fluids, and keep it how it is.

    Its got a 2.5 inch ss strate throught would a x20xev manifold fit think the cams do but not 100%

    Got both x20 and x18 here will have a look at that but will be end of week would help me as x18 manifolds cracked I do have x16 4 branch but thought that may not fit ?

    both cracked ? ... is it a common thing on those 1.8's then ?

    I don't know much about the inlets on those, but I doubt it will fit, as the x18xe1 is smallblock, and the x20xev is bigblock... so theres most probably a width difference ?

    ive seen a build thread of an old mini cooper with a 1.8 in, and the guy used a x16 inlet on it, he said it matched up.
