Its sound electric because the cam belt cover wasn't located and clipped in at the bottom pulley properly
backing plate been cut out, took a while but needed to get it bang on the money
alternator bracket been made, I spaced it a few mill away from the block aswell to allow for more adjustment on the belt
turned some spacers up and welded them on to the plate
on no pics of the finished product got excited
so tensioner time, take one go kart releave it of its steering arm.
cut it so the left hand thread is kept then re tap the opposite end right hand threaded and it adjustable in place. plus it looks cool
lee gay sporting the new team wear
so got the alternator on but wasnt happy with how close the pulley sat next to the chassis rail,
so had a look round nicked a 5 ripped pulley off a saxo alt and set about using that instead of the 6 ripped as standard. but it needed a little time on the lathe to get the offset right

so yesterday seen us all struggling to finish things off for today mot day.
emerald still hadn't send the econoseal socked plug so made do with this
completely stripped the loom again
noticed a massive fuel leak on spark free turn over the previous owner had cut the jenvey fuel link pipe to small and when i built it up diddnt realise the o-rings were damaged.
so what to do, get the off cut of go kart track rod, drill it out to the needed size on the lathe then turn down the ends, all good till i got carried away and maachined the end to 9.4mm instead off 10.00mm opps. had people standing around waiting to hear it start for the first time so settled for some 10mm copper radiator pipe. winner no more leaks
linked the laptop check comms and gave it a turn.
started straight away it sounded electric till we realised the plastic cam cover wasnt clipped in correctly.
knocked of work early like a over excited school boy breaking up for 6 week holidays.
finished the loom wirred the innovate in ready for final mapping thursday night.
first drive 45min after it should have been at the mot center opps
a little blip on the way back from mot station.
its really loud because the heater matrix hole through the bulkhead hasnt been blanked yet
so passed the mot with flying colours no pun intended
but wouldnt start back up, i put it down to been to warn because the lambda isint connect.
but no so had to stick the booster on which I wasnt keen on because of the race battery
still no go. check the plugs a lil sutty
towed it out the mot station. 25min of scratching my head checked the fuel rail for pressure. AIR
jason failed to say it needed petrol.
looked like right amatuers which we are mind you. toppped it up with some gog juice then drove it back to my unit
woo the cars mapped (on the road)
its pretty good according to the man that knows alot more then me about aftermarket ecus
its pretty good according to the man that drives it
its pretty good according to me the mechanic
so engine wise its there will be having it rolling roaded after weston park outting plus a few other things
got a list of things to be done tomorrow on it but nothing serious or that requires any fabrication work.
left the innovate lambda in and connect untill sunday moring, dan will tell the ecu to stop communication with the lambda and I will stick a blank plug in its place. need to actually get the boss welded in the single piece section but times gonna be against us on that so its in a single port on the manifold
