mate try to avoid going full retard in the future. Neither the clio or nova weigh anywhere near 1200+ kg or have massive 17'' wheels. Your method of the civic has more bhp so its clearly faster couldn't be much more wrong. Power to weight ratio, unsprung weight etc etc, all these things will effect how a car performs. Consider this... XE nova lets say weighs around 700/800kg? and has 145ft pounds, ep3 weighs 1260ish and has 143 torques. The nova would feel like a big block v8 in comparison.
