Then we call Qed and order these bad boys. Not an off the shelf jobbie either, and they only took 48hours to make them!
Almost a shame to fit them... Lol
Rest of the build is underway, with access to drawings from the Swindon boys too, so we have the build sheets from the original reverse head bttc cars... A bit overkill, but some interesting 'tweaks' we can do
feck me you could have a ferrari for what this thing has cost!
Good on you for keeping the spirit alive!
Ooooo with that info this should be a awesome build.
All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one PepsiFar from suicidalStill I get them tendenciesBringing back them memories
That I really miss when I reminisce
Gotta love Pete burgess
Yep, our local engine builder has some really good contacts!
Any he's blessed with building 100k engines for a living! Lol
Completed in time for RR meet on the 18th?
My Rebuild
They're over there with their new toys. Someone brought them in. No idea who bought them though.....
Engine will be finished next Tuesday - in theory it could be ready, but will need some time off work! (I dont want to rush it and it will need a tweak to the map etc)
So a small update - I have paid for the parts of the build which include:
New custom (Omega) pistons
New Swindon double valve springs (unique and expensive! Grr!)
Caps
16 new QED wasted valves (so I have 10 decent spares )
New Arp bolts all around
Cometic gasket
SBD oil pump
New nylon relief valve
Swindon Race front and rear crank seals (these were over £140 ffs )
ACL race bearings
A 'normal' engine builder wouldnt have replaced most of the above, but unfortunately for me Pete only builds competition spec and replaces anything that may not be fit for purpose!
Needless to say, the cost (with the labour) isnt cheap, but I will have a more powerful, more reliable lump that I can nail from the word go!
Yay!
