Default C20xe engine & gearbox weight, remove ?

Hi wounderd if anyone can help, I'm looking to remove my engine and gearbox so I can tidy up & respray the engine bay, can anyone tell me the rough weight of an c20xe & f20 box so I get a stand and lift sorted, also some advice on removing ( out the bottom or use a lift ? ) lifting points ? thanks

most engine hoists are rated well over 2T. out the top is easiest in a lot of cases, but not always. depends how you have the car supported.

The top vs. bottom debate has been raging for years However I find it easiest out the bottom.
If you put a big piece of wood under the cross member between the 2 tie bar mounts, then it gives you a good central point to jack on, with a large bottle jack etc, then support on stands on the chassis legs.
