Forgot all about this for a while . Taken me since the last post to get some motivation to do anything. I just unloaded it from the trailer to my lockup abnd left it. Was half expecting it to of been gone when I popped up to have a look. Anyway here's how she looked Sunday morning
First thing to tackle was removing the head as I'd managed to snap an exhaust manifold stud and then a drill bit when trying to drill it out
Head off, bores and pistons look mint which is a bonus
Took the head to a local engineering firm who worked some spark eroding magic, couple of hours and £20 later it was out. Spent this evening cleaning the head and refitting the studs
Got to wait for my headset and bolts before I can re-fit.
Next task is to paint the underside to stop rust, then fit fuel tank and then mount fuel pump in wheel well. I will try and get some pics of the welding that was done soon, it's a top quality job. Hoping to have this ready for the summer Can't wait to hear it roar into life again
