Default Windscreen wipers won't return to stop position

My windsreen wipers work fine, until they are turned off, when they stop halfway down the windscreen. Even if you turn them off when they are at the bottom they continue the cycle until halfway before stopping. I have replaced the wiper stalk, but it does exactly the same thing.

Any ideas how I can cure the problem?

    thanks
    Doug

Not off the top of my head but put the wipers on and feel the relays. You'll be able to tell which one is the right one.

    i think???????
when you look at the fuse box on the drivers
side there is three relays on the bottom
of the fuse box, its the long one,
    to double check if you
put your wipers on intermitant and touch the relay you
can feel it clicking when the wipers come on.

    hope this helps
