    Trouble is I haven't a clue what the font is called etc, so I want to clarify about it before I make myself look like a fool haha

    You think that's hard, I spent an eternity looking for the name of the font on my plates!

    IIRC, the pre 2001 font is called 'Charles Wright' mate.

    ...but thats a moot point, as any plates made up these days have to conform to the new regulations.

    as with all these laws, its got grandfather rights.... so if it was fitted legally in whatever year, & isn't removed, then it is fine, but the moment its removed, a new type one must be fitted....
