Still can't find the problem?? And still can't find the earth on the column.

From memory, the column earth is under the bonnet - on my Mk1's it's on one of the rack mounts.
If the column earth is fubar'd, the horn won't work.
If your honker works, then the earth is OK.
You need to get a meter and measure some voltages.
Have you tried swapping the ind/flash switch? or the light switch with a known good working one?
