the textured finish wasn't intentional, it kind of just happened ill probably get it sprayed smooth again eventually but it is true that it won't rust very easily

update:
after sourcing a 1.8 astra 16v internal fuel pump, fitting the fuel lines, charging the battery and wiring help from riggy i managed to get the engine turning over but no success which i wasnt very happy about but after a bit of help we worked out the HT leads were for the wrong distributor so i went to get some new ones and the engine lived even though it was a bit spluttery and sounded like a subaru i havnt got any videos as my phone is bobbins and i didnt have my camera
