    I'm pretty sure that the battery releases harmful gasses when its being charged. That's why I want to use something like a 240v to 12v transformer so it's safer

    You'd need a power converter of some sort if you wanted to do it sans-battery. But as said, just get a decent home stereo - there's a reason why people don't use car audio in house.

    Nobody drives a car with triangle wheels, does that mean you should just to be "different"?

    I think the current draw will be too much, your going to need a massive psu if its half decent equipment

    Find out how many amps you need first and work from there, search eBay as there are power supplies up to 60A
    success is only limited by a weak mind

    Yes it's easily done, PC power supplies have a 12v feed for fans ect not sure is suggest it as a permanent solution but iv tried it before now and it worked fine dude! Google it will come up with a diagram on how to do it

    cheers ive worked out that my amp will be running at no more than 25 amps, going by the maximum wattage. Would the pc supply supply enough amperage?
