Spec wise: Standard LET, only mods I'm plannig are induction, XE inlet cams and custom stainless steel exhaust. Want it to be reliable basically. Going crazy from the beginning is silly really as you need to learn the cars driving characteristics as there will be 150bhp increase from the 1.2. So it's also the more sensible thing to do.. there's me talking about sensible but putting in a LET!
I don't plan to do any further mods when it's a daily driver maybe if I get a bigger car in the future and hae the Nova as a weekend toy.
Contemplated using that. I only thought that was for external use.Originally Posted by mayhem
Small update:
Got these in the post today, Eibach EZ camebr adjustment bolts
Thought I'd start on the little jobs that normally make the biggest impact. So first things first... time to clean them bottles!
They aren't overly dirty, but I wouldn't want to stick them back into a fresh looking engine bay. Thanks to Colin (Novarally) for the washer bottle Stuck them in the dishwasher, will see in a bit how they come out

Colour is cool and plans sound good.
Cheers Edd
Update soon...
never tried the dishwasher trick,
saying that i have never been fussed on what my
engine looks like, but meh interested on how well they come out
Dish washer FTW!!
I stick all sorts in my dish washer, inlet manifolds, washer bottles etc etc!
Dishwasher is the best mate. Does really well cleaning up stuff. You yourself could never wash anything at 70degrees even with washing up gloves on, so that alone helps remove so much muck.Originally Posted by ConnorLake
Will get you some snaps of the bottles tomorrow as I moved them to the garage.
Went and visited the bodyshop today to give them the GSi spoiler fitting screws and sealant. Whilst there we had a chat and he showed me the replacement arches that he got in and said that he would be starting on Monday to cut and weld the arches and weld up the door locks. So it should be an interesting and fun update.
In the meantime I got some snaps of the engine bay so peeps can see it's current state which is pretty much solid (well chuffed obviously)
First up the battery tray which is solid
The bay in full
You might ask why the gearbox is still in? The bodyshop said to remove the engine as the gearbox was something they could easily sort out, just so they didn't mess around with removing an engine.
Driver side turret
The other side
Opposite side of the battery tray, mint!
Behind the left headlamp
Behind the right headlamp
That is all for now, next expected update should be Monday
