I've had almost-first-hand experience of Flux's claims handling (my sister was with them), relatively recently too; wasn't impressed at all tbh. Mind you, HIC always used to be good back in the day- so as they're one and the same now I guess it just depends whether you get old HIC staff or Flux staff handling your claim.
Still, Sky for me. Thankfully I've never had to experience a claim with them, but everything else customer service wise has been spot on.
Ollie, is it your underwriter than restricts you in the north west areas?

When we get someone who is presenting a very good insurance risk (eg aged over 30, max NCB, good occupation, experience etc) it can very very painful for us to say 'no, we cant quote you sorry'. Also, we pick up a lot of negative feedback from people in excluded areas.
