    Default project pants

Well it seems to be the thing now for all existing club members to get thier **** in gear and make a WIP well i thought i may as well start my very own so here it goes ....

This is my car when i first got it back in october last year all nice and pink , its a 1.2i expression and was completly standard and un abused .

i had been browseinga round the site and saw mark turners red sxi and thought it was the bomb so i spent a few weeks researching and found out what bits he had on his one , now was the hard thing and had to source parts , came over a number by pure chance and ended up makeing a frindship with a fella up in ballymoney who has alot of nova spairs so i took a trip up and got a flame red gsi spoiler , a gsi steering wheel , gsi side skirts

    heres the bits i got

    from This

    to this

i then got givin a set of alloys off a friend who was scrapping a astra so i took them to get shot of nasty steelies

    heres the alloys on

and tryed out side skirts for size and just to see how they looked

i t cutted and polished the car for a few days and then lost enthuiasm in it , but seeing a lovely white sr in town got my nova bug going again and i went and sourced some more parts

i put the sr wheels on and the rear pillar covers , yes i was meaning to ask at the side where the boot strut goes on theres a extra whole on the covers whats this for ?

this is how far ive got with my little nova with the little tools and space i have got , this is me havin a feg and the wing i filled and primered if you can see it beside my legs

and this is how my car sits now , altho i have the sr wheels on

any tips and help would be great , tell me what you think and ways i can improve on the quality of workmanship on my car as i want it to look as best it can

this is what i am working towards with sr wheels as i think speedlines are nice but they are like Dog sh1t you see them everywhere over here , is this realistic to as what i could achieve or just a dream ? thanks for looking at my wip Nath .

yes mate the steering wheel was a kick in the nads to get off , i used a puller thing but it dint budge so ended up getting the drill out and drilled VERY carefully through the alloy to weaken the splines , and then a drop of WD40 and it came off a charm , i was wondering if anyone could give me advice on how to fitt my springs ? cheers Nathan .

Cheers, I have an SR wheel but can't get the old one off

Fitting springs - You will need spring compressors for definate, socket set, and either a compressor with impact gun, or drop neck spanner etc, to undo top nut. The back is easy, just undo nuts that hold on bottom of shocks and drop axle, pop spring out, stick new ones in and re-fit nuts tight. Might have to leave front to a mechanic

    Nice wee project.

Skirts need the paint flaking off or recoating.

I wouldnt have the GSi badges or transfers as its blatantly not a Nova GSi.

Next step has to be SR or GTE seats. All Novas need SR seats if you intend to drive it enthusiastically.
