changing engine size on log book

I started my problems with the dvla months ago, possibly august last year?, I still have no log book.

Most insurance companies will not touch a car with an engine conversion,On the web sites the reg wont bring the car up unless you go with adrian flux or etc,thats what i found any way.

Car will only come up automatically if both the insurance company and DVLA have updated their records. However, even then you must still inform the insurance company its had an engine conversion, as it didn't leave the factory with that size of engine (ergo: modified). Most assessors are lazy, but some will look for any excuse to get out of paying, and sods law dictates the day yours goes into the shop for an insurance repair is the day the assessor is feeling picky

Jack, i've been having the same problem with the retards at the dvla for months now, get some sort of letter off to them sharpish, you may not make pvs!

Thats what worries me - the engine is in, but it may not get running for a while. My plan was to get all the paperwork sorted, then MOT it, but at this rate I'll need to get either the MOT tester to check the engine or run it down to Vauxhall and have them verify the engine number. By the time thats all done though it'll probably be October ....2014

Hmm, thinking about it, the letter from the DVLA doesn't say the integrity of the installation needs to be checked, just they need verification of the engine number. Reading it word for word, I could just ask Vauxhall to confirm the engine number is indeed a 2.0 Vauxhall engine without them even seeing the car.... although the chances of that are about as likely as draper giving up stella

what does that matter? in the result of an accident are you going to run home, smash your 'spare car' and dump it beside the scene? or are you going to swap the engine back at the side of the road after you wrap it round a lamp post or a donkey?
