Thanks for taking the time to read it. Its nice comments that give you that extra push to go down the workshop on a cold december evening! In some ways I wish I was married - I'd have more reasons go get down there out the way then!

Had to head up the unit tonight because all tho it dosn't leak water up there for some reason the snow gets in everywhere so I had to cover the car up. Before I did tho I couldn't resist getting the grinder out again so I chopped out the last bit at the rear...

I then put on the bellhousing and slid in the torque tube. Just got to work out the best way to mount it all up and how now. The end plate on the tube is 10mm thick. I think I might get Shaun to make me up an ally plate that suits the contour of the bellhousing. I can then make a hole in the centre just enough the shaft to pass thru then I can drill & tap the plate for the holes for the slave cylinder to mount. I'll then have to grind off the welds on the torque tube end plate, slide it back, trim down the tube, weld it back up then bolt the lot together.

Anybody else got any other ideas?

simps, could you not, cut of the mounting plate on the torque tube, and make another steel plate, possibly the same thickness and make it to the same shape as the bell housing and weld it to the torque tube? seems a good idea

it would stress frqacture imop. id make a mini convertor plate to go between the bellhousing and torque tube. have you figured a clutch? is it a porker tube?

That is the other option, and probably the easiest. The plate is 10mm thick after all!
